Special student receives free bed and desk from MTN

The donation came after Daily Graphic published a story of how Ebenezer Mensah finds it difficult in accessing his bed and desk.

The 16-year-old day student of SWESBU is part of the gold track of students who started their senior high school education November 12, 2018 and is currently studying General Arts at the Swedru School of Business.

When Ebenezer Mensah reported to Swedru School of Business on his first day on Monday, November 12, 2018 to go through the registration process, activities of the school came to an abrupt end as security men and staff and students of the school abandoned everything to catch a glimpse of the 7.2 feet young boy.

He was spotted in a white, short-sleeved shirt over brown khaki shorts and black sandals that were prescribed as the school uniform.

Ebenezer was welcomed with thunderous shouts and cheers from, particularly students who could not hide their amazement and shock at seeing him in the school.
But after the dust settled, the 16-year-old has not had it easy.

Shedding light on what he does at home, Ebenezer Mensah who is 7.2 feet said his height makes it difficult for him to access some of the classrooms and dormitory blocks.

I have to bend down before entering my house and the dining hall. I can’t sleep on my own bed because it is too short for me, I always have to bend my legs while sleeping on the bed or rest on the upper frame up on the bed while my legs hang off the bed,” he lamented.

After his plea went viral on social media, MTN Ghana, made plans for him to enable him to study in comfort.
