Player bonuses should be given to team owners – Yahaya

Aduana Stars Captain Yahaya Mohammed has condemned the decision made by Normalization Committee of paying players’ winning bonuses directly into their account in both Tier 1 and Tier 2 of their newly introduced special competition.

The former Asante Kotoko Player is of the belief that such an act is illegal and he doesn’t support it since the monies are supposed to be given to the club owners instead.

“The only thing they [the normalization committee] can do to help we the players is by giving the monies to the team owners.

Owner formed his team and he knows how he struggles to keep the team in shape; is he [Dr. Kofi Amoah] the one who formed the team for the owner?” He questioned.

“If he [Dr. Kofi Amoah] has been an owner of a team for years and this is being done to him, he will see how it feels.” He added.

A combined 64 teams comprising sixteen (16) Premier League and forty-eight (48) Division one will take part in the three-month competition.

A reported $800,000 has been designated for the running of the emergency competition.
