Kwesi Appiah should be given two years to build the Black Stars – Godwin Attram

The former Coach of Accra Great Olympics, Godwin Attram has pleaded with Ghanaians to give Coach Kwesi Appiah the grace of two years to build a very strong team.

He believes that the pressure put on Kwesi Appiah to call back experienced players like Asamoah Gyan and the Ayew brothers will prevent Kwesi Appiah from reaching his goals.

According to his explanation, team building is a process and it is not advisable to have both old and new players in the team at the same time and that at some point, some players would have to be dropped to allow new ones in.

Talking to Agoo Tv, he said;

“As a tactician, I can confidently say Kwesi Appiah will recall the old players. But if there is so much pressure on him to recall them, then he cannot build the team.”

“If you’re building a team, you cannot do it with all the guys.”

He also made mention that it was unfair to blame Kwesi Appiah for high profile players who cannot perform when called to action.

“Why do we always blame coaches for the underperformance of players? Kwesi Appiah Assembled players from various top-flight leagues across the world so if they do not perform well on a match day, we should blame them instead,” he stated.
