Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu has said that leading member of NPP Gabby Otchere Darko should not insult Ghanaian actors and actresses as he has no help to offer the movie industry.

The politician who is a leader of the New Patriotic Party took to his Facebook page to post a long writeup, criticizing the Ghana movie industry and comparing it to the movie industry in the USA.

He stated that Ghanaian movies were not up to standard and that the stakeholders in the industry are doing a poor job.

Many Ghanaians including actors and actresses expressed their displeasure at the politician’s stance. He was called names on social media and people believed that he could have offered encouragement instead of criticizing them.

The actor told Yvonne on the show Cooking with “cooks and braggarts” that Gabby Otchere Darko should keep quiet if he’s not willing to help the Ghana movie industry.

Kwaku Manu believes that it makes no sense for anyone to compare the movie industry in Ghana to Hollywood which enjoys proper funding and availability of equipment.
