Former Black Stars players, Stephen Appiah and Michael Essien are expected to participate in a ceremonial match in Lagos, Nigeria in March 2019.
The duo are among 21 former top footballers including Liberian President George Weah and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba who will feature in the charity match dubbed ‘The Match: A Celebration of Excellence in Sport’.
The game is being organized to celebrate Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
Other stars expected to take part in the match include Senegal’s El -Hajj Diouf, Drogba’s former teammate, Kolo Toure, Christian Karembu amongst others.
Appiah, 40, has retired from football while Michael Essien (playing for no clu) has revealed that he will call time on his career in 2020.
